How I Got interested in Calligraphy

When I was in high school, I've always had a knack for doodling on the pages of my notebook. Usually they are letterings of interesting words from my teacher. I think it kind of helped me breeze through those four gruelling years because writing them down in facy fonts made me remember them more (For example, I clearly remember writing the words "Pythagorean Theorem" such that until now, I can still remember that A square + B square equals C square). Lol!

When I saw so many lovely works on instagram, I really wanted to try it out. I started with brush / calligraphy pens and did simple lettering at first. I think I did OK, but I need some practice.

Here's my first piece

Then I wanted to try the classic calligraphy tools. But it turns out it's more difficult than I thought. I guess I really need more practice. And so here I set up this blog to kind of document my practice sessions and see ny improvoement (if any) in the future. I'm also lookong at attending workshops but they are just too darn expensive :( Plus I don't have the time because of mothehood duties. Maybe someday. I hope so. :)

My first decent take using pointed pen calligraphy.
